 The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 14 districts tomorrow, Saturday.

The 14 districts that have been issued a yellow alert are Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Angul and Keonjhar.


The department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall with winds gusting up to 40-50 kmph in the districts where the alert has been issued.

On the other hand, a low-pressure area is likely to form in the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal on the 27th.


Due to the effect of the rainfall, the temperature in the state has come down.
