Bhubaneswar: The third generation leaders of the state's largest regional party Biju Janata Dal are gradually losing trust. There are many examples of this and the latest is the resignation of Prafulla Samal's son Manarukanti Samal from the primary membership. Earlier, it was made clear in the recently formed organizational committee that the sons of senior leaders have been particularly affected by the lack of attention to the youth. Since there are some MLAs among them, they are not opening their mouths and the sons whose fathers are opening their mouths are being advised to find alternatives. The sons of 10 leaders are involved in this.
What will be the future of BJD, the only party that has ruled the state continuously for 24 years? There are two reasons behind asking this question. One is the hatred that is being created over the inability of founding president Naveen Patnaik to manage the party. Which has been expressed, discussed and criticized many times. Whether he is unwilling to do so or his health reasons are not the subject of discussion here.
The second reason is that the youth, especially the next generation of leaders, are being ignored. In this regard, prominent leaders of this generation have repeatedly bypassed the organization and held meetings in various corners. They have met the president and expressed their pride in the media.
The names of the 10 leaders who are being discussed in particular are Dr. Damodar Raut's son Sambit Rautraya, Vijayashree Rautraya's son Vishnubrat Rautraya, Pradeep Maharathi's son Rudra, Parvathi Tripathi's son Devi, Parvathi Biswal's son Sauvik, Prafulla Ghadik's son Prithiranjana, Kalpataru Das's son Pranab Balawantraya, Kalandi Behera's son Chandra Sarathi, Anand Acharya's son Dayesh and Prafulla Samal's son Manarukkanthi, who brought Bhadrak BJD into the spotlight yesterday.
Many of these leaders have met together or in separate groups four times in the recent past. Twice in a hotel. Once at Debashish Samantray's house and once at Naveen's residence. They may have met many times, but the reason for this four-time discussion is the discontent, suspicion, pride and opposition between them.
Recently, Sambit Rautray has given his statement about the injustice done to his father by the party. His father, Da Damodar Raut, can be said to be a political devotee of Biju Babu. During his time, he entered politics and took charge of the state's cabinet. Damodar, who is known for his clear political statements, has been suspended, reinstated and later insulted by the party.
Similarly, MLA Devi Ranjan's father, Pratava Tripathi, is also a founder member of the BJD. But now the president has announced that he has been expelled from the party. It has been alleged that the BJD is no longer paying attention to Chandra Sarathi Behera. Parvathi Biswal has repeatedly pointed fingers at the administration in Cuttack Sadar. It is also said that he collected tickets for his son by force. But now he is a thorn in the side of the party. Rudra Maharathi, Jeetu Balawantray and Danny are also among the leaders who have become thorny. But they are looking for a stable water by walking on the ground.
The party has not included many of these leaders in any organizational work. Even to find their alternatives, a search for new leaders has started in the respective constituencies. In such a situation, young leaders can no longer maintain trust in the party leaders. Therefore, the right time and opportunity are being waited for. They can jump from the party at any moment.
Now another leader who is not in the discussion has joined this leap. He is Manasukanti Samal. Former minister and 6-time MLA Prafulla Samal's son CA. He was never at the fair of this young leader. But he was working in the party as an editor of the organization. But Nub is not in the announced team. It is said that his father Prafulla had made negative comments about the Pandian system a few days ago. Which indirectly criticized Pandian's rule. For this, his son has been punished. Therefore, there is a discussion that the son left the party in the presence of his father and is now facing the BJP. Since the BJP candidate is elected in only one seat out of the 6 assembly constituencies in Bhadrak district and the BJD candidate has been elected in 3 seats, the BJD is the main rival of the BJP here. Therefore, it is natural for the BJP to try to break the stronghold of the BJD. And this district is the district of the BJP president and he is the winning candidate of 2024. That is, Manmohan may want to take the opportunity of the BJD split to strengthen the organization in this district. The same is the case with Honey Ghatki in Jajpur. The mother of the unhappy Danny is Manmohan. There is information that he wants to test his luck for a few days in the shadow of his mother. However, his son Danny is very clever like former minister Prafulla. So let's wait and see what steps he will take next.
However, it is clear from this that the eight young leaders of the BJD are ready to leave the party at any moment. And they have paved the way for this and are trying. Therefore, the fear of a mass explosion cannot be avoided at any time.
