Cyclone warning issued for all these places due to low pressure, wind and heavy rain

 A low pressure area is likely to form over the east-central Arabian Sea off the north Karnataka-Goa coast. It will soon start moving northwards and its speed will also be very fast. This low pressure area is likely to intensify further by May 22.

At present, the system is centred near 16.5 degrees North and 71.5 degrees East.

It is likely to intensify further and intensify into a deep depression by May 22.

Due to this, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over west coastal Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Karnataka and Kerala during the next 6 to 7 days.

Sea surface temperature and other conditions are creating a favourable environment for the system to strengthen further.

If it develops into a cyclone, it may also move towards Yemen-Oman, Pakistan coast or Saurashtra-Kutch.

Whether it develops into a cyclone or not will be clear after the next 36 hours.

Meanwhile, in Odisha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati are likely to experience thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall, with a warning of Kalbaisakhi rainfall at some places. In particular, thunderstorms and winds gusting up to 50 kmph are likely to occur in Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur.
