 Regional Meteorological Center Director Dr. Manorma Mohanty said that there will be rain in various parts of the state due to the effect of a low pressure. However, the IMD has not made any forecast regarding the storm.

However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has estimated that the weather is favorable for the advance of the monsoon in some places in Mumbai, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in the next three days.

Due to the effect of a low pressure on Monday, rain is likely to occur almost everywhere in the state except Kannur region.

Starting from the coast today, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph with rain in the north, south and west.

Especially, thundershowers are likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri. Winds gusting to 40 to 50 kmph are also likely.

The weather department has said that similar conditions will be witnessed in the state on Tuesday, 27th.

Heavy rainfall is likely in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput. Apart from these places, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput. Winds will also blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km.

The Meteorological Department has predicted good rain in various places in the state till the 1st of next month.
