SAMS will submit the application form to the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC). After that, OSHEC will prepare a list of eligible candidates and publish the merit list. All the information in this regard is available on the SAMS website WWW.samsodisha.gov.in.
The main objective of this scholarship is to provide students with an opportunity to pursue further research in the fields of science and technology, social sciences and humanities.
Every year, 300 people will be given Chief Minister's Research Fellowship.
This scholarship will be given to students pursuing PhD in government universities.
Students of universities under the Department of Higher Education, Department of Technical Education and Skill Development, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture can apply.
Applicants must be graduates or have passed first class in their post-graduation.
The applicant should not be more than 35 years of age. The applicant should have done pre-PhD coursework in any university. He should not be receiving any other financial assistance. Should be a resident of Odisha.
The fellowship will be for a period of 4 years. If the scholar wants to extend it for another year, then he can get the approval of OSHEC.
The scholar will submit his report every year. A monthly scholarship of Rs. 30,000 will be provided.
As contingency funds, students of the science department i.e. students of practical subjects will be given Rs. 50,000 and students of non-practical subjects will be given Rs. 30,000.
