According to the information received, elections will be held for five district council zones. Out of these zones, Kendrapara and Keonjhar have two constituencies each, while one is in Sambalpur. That is, elections will be held for two district council zones in the Chief Minister's district. The zones are Ghatgaon and Keonjhar Sadar district council zones.

There is a possibility that this could create a political complication. Both the BJD and the BJP are likely to spend effort and resources to capture this seat to demonstrate their political strength.

On the other hand, the administration has taken measures to ensure that the district council elections are free and fair and to garner more votes. The State Election Commission has directed the District Collectors to ensure that the Sarpanch's office and ward office in every Panchayat are identified as vote collection booths.
