New Delhi: At the annual security forum, one of the world's largest military and strategic forums, US Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has given an important and serious warning about China. He clearly said that China is preparing for a major military offensive to establish its dominance in Asia, the first target of which could be Taiwan. Hegseth made it clear that the threat from China is not just on paper but is being created in reality. It can appear at any time. He claimed that China is planning to occupy Taiwan by 2027. He said that the US and its allies will jointly confront this aggressive policy of China.
The Pentagon chief said that China is not just a regional power, but it wants to strengthen its grip on the entire world. He said, "China is preparing for war every day. Its goal is to occupy Taiwan, and for this it is constantly modernizing and strengthening its army." Hegseth has warned the entire Asia, including India, not to take China's growing military power lightly. He has urged all countries to increase their defense budgets and equip their armies with the best technology. He said, "The United States is further strengthening its military partnerships with Japan, the Philippines and India to meet the challenge of China."
Supporting the Trump administration's anti-China policy
The Pentagon chief also praised President Donald Trump's tough policy against China. He said that during the Trump administration, a tariff war was launched against China and efforts were made to limit its access to artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Hegseth described China's cyberattacks and policy of intimidating neighboring countries as a major threat. He said that China is launching frequent cyberattacks and asserting its claims over disputed areas such as the South China Sea. "This region handles about 60% of the world's maritime trade. In recent months, there have been several clashes between China and the Philippines in this area."
