Vigilance Nabs RW Chief Engineer: In a major crackdown against corruption, the Odisha Vigilance has arrested Chief Engineer of Rural Development Department, Shri Baikuntha Nath Sarangi, on charges of amassing assets beyond his means. According to reports, the vigilance team raided Sarangi's properties and recovered assets worth crores of rupees. This included cash, property and luxury items.
H2. Two more COVID cases reported in Odisha: The Odisha government today reported two new Covid cases in the state, taking the total number of infections to seven. Earlier, five people tested positive for Covid. Health and Family Welfare Department officials said that one more case could be added soon as the RT-PCR test results of a suspected patient are awaited.
