Headlines 01- The Minister of State has informed that the new liquor policy will be implemented soon. The Minister said that it will be implemented by the second or third week of this month. No new shops will open under the new liquor policy. Three teams will visit other states to study the liquor policies. They will visit Andhra, Rajasthan, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and return on the 7th and 8th. Whatever is left in the policy will be changed and implemented. The problems of illegal liquor, punishment, and old policy will be eliminated. A 3-year policy will be made keeping everything in mind.
Headlines 02- The number of Covid patients in the state has increased to 15. Public Health Director Dr. Nilakant Mishra informed in this regard. Headlines 03- Single PG entrance exam result published. The result was published on the SAMS PG portal. Out of 62,321 candidates who applied for the exam, 56,976 appeared for the exam. The exam was conducted from May 4 to May 18 for 30,802 PG seats.
Headlines 04- National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the NEET-PG 2025 exam till further orders. It is learnt that this decision was taken after the Supreme Court's order to conduct the exam in one shift instead of two shifts. Earlier, the NEET-PG exam was to be held on June 15, 2025, but now the new date will be announced soon. NBEMS informed that more exam centers are being arranged to conduct the exam in one shift. Due to which changes in the exam schedule have become necessary. The new date of the exam and all the information will be available on the official website of NBEMS nbe.edu.in soon.
Headlines 05- Security forces have seized a huge cache of Maoist material from the Gandhamardan hill forest of Bargarh. During a combing operation in the Gandhamardan forest of Paikmal, the DVF has seized a tinderbox with a detonator and some Maoist clothes. The SP informed that the seizure was based on the information of 2 cadre Maoists who surrendered in August last year.
